When I was sick with both strep and mononucleosis, my parents put me in a bed in the downstairs den. This chair was across the room. One clue I was recovering was this drawing.

A preparatory sketch for a painting I did during my freshman year at the Hartford Art School, acrylic on panel. I was very much influenced by Edward Hopper, and was trying to push his boundries a bit. The painting was later broken in two during a playful dorm-room tussle between two friends of mine. So it goes.
