The field squares are Black Walnut and Curly/Spalted Maple; a few of the maple squares have a figurative history of wormholes. The frame has recessed Walnut banding, with Butternut rails (again, with a bit of figurative wormholes) and corner blocks of Walnut. The field is a regulation 16x16”. This 16x16-inch regulation board has an ash and black walnut field, and maple recessed banding and frame. The base is solid monkeywood! (Chess pieces are for illustration only, and are not included).
